Tradition

FamilientraditionA family tradition of viniculture

The vineyards of the Austrian Wachau valley are famous for their high quality wine. The wine plantation of the Family Hutter situated in this valley has been cultivated, managed and nurtured with loving care over a period of many Hutter generations. At this moment in time Fritz Hutter III reigns over the plantation. He dedicates most of his time to the vineyards and wine cellars to ensure and attend to the highest wine quality production possible. His wife Elfriede is responsible for the marketing and sale of the wines which takes place directly on the wine estate. Furthermore she cares for the friendly hospitality and gastronomic well being of the guests in the estates own tavern/restaurant. This tavern may also be reserved and booked for special larger celebrations and occasions.

Wachau - Unseco WeltkulturerbeWachau - UNESCO World Cultural Heritage

The Wachau is world famous. The unique cultural richness of variety to be found between the Monasteries of Melk and Göttweig, and also the unbelievable rock terrace sloped vineyards contributed to the nomination and recognition by the UNESCO of the Wachau as one of the World Cultural Heritage regions. On mica, gneiss and slate in other words on the quite extraordinary weather-beaten soil of the Wachau valley, wines are produced from the famous Grüner Veltliner and Riesling grapes. Because of their elegance and minerality, they belong to the best white wines of the world. Their unique expression of fruit and aromas comes from the huge difference in temperature during day and night, result of the cool (continental) and warm (panonnian) clima influence.

Der Natur verbundenThe natural nature connection

Wine is a product of nature. The consideration and intensity of the acquirement of knowledge of the natural resources possible and their availability is one of the most important features which we invest into the philosophy of our wine produce. We purposely seek natural and healthy methods in the production of our quality wines and shun and avoid the unfortunate less natural methods available on the wine market. The harvest in our vineyards is undertaken manually. In other words the grapes are hand picked by trained harvesters. Furthermore the care taken in the cellars during the wine process takes top priority at all times. It is through this devotion and dedication to our wine, that its specialised, unmistakable individual character and quality cannot be confused with the wine of any other region.
